Sound Technology

The first ever film to introduce sound was "The Jazz Singer" in 1927, since the debut of that film, the industry changed forever. The research and experimentation of sound technology paid off as the introduction to talking sound movies made a big impact in the big screen. The success of "The Jazz Singer" drove Hollywood films to immediately produce talking films using the "movietone" sound system and the "photophone" developed by RCA studios. With film colour on the way,  Hollywood starting making use of sound in pictures by producing 800 movies a year and making a large increase in profit. The 1920s has made its mark of being "The Golden Age" of Hollywood.
